As the only residential college, the Watauga Residential College provides an environment for Appalachian's most creative students to explore their passions both in and out of the classroom. Small seminar-style classes allow students to explore topics such as "Brazilian Martial Arts," "Poetry, Song and Rap," and "Freudian Dreams."

Students use the skills discovered in the classroom to connect their ambitions to not only our local but global communities, helping them understand the responsibilities of global community membership. Alumni of this program can be found serving in the Peace Corps, leading non-profit organizations, and conducting research as top astronomers. Learn more.
