High Wind Warning in effect for Watauga County from 7 am Sunday, January 20 until 7 am Monday, January 21. This includes Appalachian State University. Wind gusts up to 65 mph possible. In addition, 1 to 3 inches of snow and wind chills dropping to 15 degrees below zero also possible. Be prepared for downed trees, isolated power outages, adverse travel conditions, and dangerously cold temperatures. Monitor local media or the National Weather Service for the latest weather information.

Each year, Appalachian State University offers more than $4 million in merit and need-based scholarships. Students can begin applying for first-year scholarships during their senior year of high school and continue to be elligible for varying awards throughout their time here at Appalachian State University. Each application process is just a little different, so make sure you review the appropriate steps for each one.
